HONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i Rainbow baseball team's 2008 recruiting class earned national recognition, ranking No. 37 in the
Collegiate Baseball Division I Recruiting rankings, released Wednesday.
UH's class, which consisted of nine freshmen and five junior college recruits, was one of just two WAC recruiting classes mentioned, following 2008 NCAA Champion Fresno State, which was ranked No. 10.
The class includes freshmen
Jesse Moore,
Chase Koissian,
Russell Doi,
Kolten Wong,
Matt Sisto,
Daniel Howell,
Nicholas Croce,
Lenny Linsky and
Connor Little. Also added are junior college transfers
Christian Johnson,
Joshua Chevalier,
Jack Hall,
Ryan Davis and Nathaniel Klein. All 14 recruits are currently enrolled at the university during the fall semester.
Other teams on the Rainbows' schedule that are ranked in the top 40 are No.1 Arizona State, No. 2 Oregon, No. 12 Oregon State and No. 22 UC Irvine. The entire schedule for Hawai'i is set to be released next week.
