Meet Notes
The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team heads to the Pacific Northwest for the fourth annual Bill Dellinger Invitational, Friday, Oct. 2 at the Springfield Country Club in Springfield, Ore. The No. 2 University of Oregon will host the 5K women's race.
The Rainbow Wahine will send a contingent of seven runners to the meet, including newcomer
Jessica Forrester, the team's top runner in two races this season.
Along with UH and Oregon, also competing are No. 5 Villanova, No. 14 Baylor, Colorado State, Oregon State, Portland, San Francisco, UTEP and Weber State.
The meet is the first of two consecutive meets on the continent for the Rainbow Wahine, who will also compete in the Santa Clara Invitational, Oct. 17.

Senior
Jessica Forrester, a transfer from the University of Tampa, has already made her mark on the team after just two races this season. The Division II All-American was the team's top finisher in both meets and placed second overall in the season-opening HPU Invitational and won last week's Big Wave Invitational. Junior Ashley Aitken, a transfer from the University of Tulsa, placed second at the Big Wave Invite, her first competition of the season.
Second Chances
Among the team's top group of runners this season are several transfers from four-year colleges.
Jessica Forrester spent three seasons at Tampa, Ashley Aitken was a two-year letterwinner at Tulsa,
Alexandra Herd transferred to UH from sister-school UH-Hilo, and top returning runner
Mariana Monasi spent one year at San Diego.
