HONOLULU – University of Hawai'i head women's volleyball coach
Dave Shoji goes for his 1,000
th career victory against New Mexico State on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center. Shoji is looking to become only the second Division I women's volleyball coach to reach the milestone.
UH will face Louisiana Tech on Monday night, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m., as the match had to be rescheduled due to travel problems for Louisiana Tech. The match was originally scheduled for Wednesday.
The Rainbow Wahine moved up one spot to No. 3 in both the AVCA Coaches Poll and the Volleyball Magazine Poll, after sweeping Nevada and San Jose State last week. UH is riding an 11-match winning streak and is 6-0 in WAC play.

ESPN 1420 (1420 AM) will broadcast both UH matches this week, live with Scott Robbs handling the play-by-play. The match can also be heard over the Internet on espn1420am.com.

Television Coverage
Both UH matches against New Mexico State and Louisiana Tech will be carried live statewide on KFVE – The Home Team (Channell 5) with Jim Leahey handling the play-by-play duties and Lisa Strand-Ma'a providing color commentary. Ticket Information
Tickets are $17 in the lower level, $12 for adults (upper), $10 for senior citizens (upper), $5 for students ages 4-18 (upper). UH Season-Ticket Holders Receive 50% To Monday's Match
UH season-ticket holders in all UH sports will receive 50% off adult tickets (maximum of eight) to Monday's match. A valid identification card is required when purchasing tickets at the Stan Sheriff Center. Tickets are in special sections and supplies are limited. Other restrictions may apply.
Promotions And Giveaways
Saturday Night - First Hawaiian Bank, the match sponsor on Saturday, will award $150 in cash during the halftime promotional contest. Fans can register at Gate A prior to the match. Fans can also win prizes from First Hawaiian Bank by competing in a contest at the sports marketing table at Gate A before the match.
Monday Night - Pepsi, the match sponsor for Monday, Oct. 19, is offering some wonderful prizes for UH fans. In honor of Coach
Dave Shoji's pending 1,000-win milestone, Pepsi will provide the grand prize winner of the promotional activity between games two and three 1,000 12-ounce cans of Pepsi, which amounts to 42 cases. The three other participants will receive 10 cases of Pepsi, a Pepsi gift bag, and a "Rockstar" T-shirt. Fans can register at the sports marketing table at Gate A before the match for the chance to compete for these prizes, compliments of Pepsi. In addition, 2,880 cans of Pepsi and 2,016 bottles of Lipton Sparkling Tea will be distributed to UH fans as they leave the arena after the match.
