Rainbow Wahine Head To Colorado For Farr Memorial

Tournament Notes

The University of Hawai'i women's golf team continues their fall season by competing in the 12th Annual Heather Farr/CU Memorial Invitational, Oct. 5 through 6, at the Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colo.

The tournament's namesake was the childhood friend of Colorado head coach Anne Kelly and fellow member of the LPGA Tour. With an outstanding junior and amateur career behind her, Farr was on her way to becoming a Tour star when she was diagnosed with a serious form of breast cancer. The tournament is being held as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be held on a par 72 course checking in at 6,350 yards. 36 holes will be played on Monday and 18 holes will be played on Tuesday.

The Rainbow Wahine will be competing in the 19-team field along with host Colorado, Colorado State, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Minnesota, Montana State, Nevada, Nebraska, Northern Colorado, Portland State, San Diego State, Southern Methodist, Texas State, Texas Tech, UT-San Antonio, Weber State, Wyoming, plus two individual from Denver.

In last year's tournament, UH finished in 16th place with a three-round score of 924. Senior Corie Hou was top finisher for the Rainbow Wahine, tying for 16th at one-over par and firing a low round of 69. Senior Erin Matsuoka also competed in the tournament, tying for 73rd place.
