No. 3 Rainbow Wahine Host BYU-Hawai‘i, Alumnae Match Friday

Match Notes

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team wraps up its five-match homestand with a single match this week against BYU-Hawai'i. Prior to the match, the annual alumnae match will be held at 5 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center, followed by the Rainbow Wahine.
 
UH takes a week off of WAC play after finishing the first half of conference action with an 8-0 record. Overall the Rainbow Wahine are 17-2 and have won 13-straight matches.
 
The Rainbow Wahine remain No. 3 in the AVCA Coaches Poll and dropped to No. 4 in the Volleyball Magazine Poll, after beating New Mexico State and Louisiana Tech last week.

Television Coverage
UH's match against BYU-Hawai'i will be carried live statewide on KFVE – The Home Team (Channell 5) with Jim Leahey handling the play-by-play duties and Lisa Strand-Ma'a providing color commentary. A live video stream of the broadcast is available online through: www.uhstreaming.oceanic.com.
 
Ticket Information
Tickets are $17 in the lower level, $12 for adults (upper), $10 for senior citizens (upper), $5 for students ages 4-18 (upper). Tickets can be purchased at Stan Sheriff Center Box Office, the UH Campus Center, Rainbowtique Ward Center, the Aloha Stadium Box Office or OCET at Windward Community College, online at hawaiiathletics.com or by phone at (808) 944-2697.
 
50% Off Ticket Discounts Available For UH Alumni Association Members
UH Alumni Association members will receive 50% off adult tickets (maximum of eight) to Friday's match. A valid Alumni Association membership card is required when purchasing tickets at the Stan Sheriff Center. Tickets are in special sections and supplies are limited. Other restrictions may apply.
 
Breast Cancer Awareness Night
In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, UH will be wearing pink uniforms and playing with a pink ball during Friday's match. Fans are encouraged to support “Dig Pink” by wearing pink or a pink ribbon to the match. The American Cancer Society will have an information booth located on the concourse near Gate A and donation stands will also be located by Gate A. All donations will go to the American Cancer Society.
 
Verizon Wireless HopeLine Program
UH and Verizon Wireless are teaming up for the fourth year to help curb domestic violence in Hawaii.  Fans attending the Hawaii vs. BYU-Hawaii women's volleyball match on Friday, Oct. 23, at 7:00 p.m. are urged to look around their homes for used wireless phones and accessories, which will be used to help survivors of domestic violence through the Verizon Wireless HopeLine program.  HopeLine drop boxes will be located at the main entrance of the Stan Sheriff Center from 6 to 7 p.m.
 
Giveaways
Fans looking to receive their memento from Dave Shoji's 1,000th victory can show their match ticket at Friday's match and several tables located on the concourse of the arena near Gate B. There will also be a table located outside the arena near Gate B, for fans looking to receive their memento without entering the arena.
