No. 4 Rainbow Wahine Return Home To Face Nevada, San Jose State

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team returns to the Stan Sheriff Center to take Nevada and San Jose State, beginning Thursday, Oct. 8. UH faces Nevada at 7 p.m. Thursday and San Jose State at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9.
 
The Rainbow Wahine remain No. 4 in the both the AVCA Coaches Poll and the Volleyball Magazine Poll, after beating Louisiana Tech and New Mexico State on the road last week. UH will play five straight home matches before heading back on the road.
 
After two wins last week, head coach Dave Shoji is just three wins shy of reaching the 1,000th victory milestone. Shoji currently has 997 victories and is looking to become only the second Division I women's coach to reach 1,000 victories.

Radio Coverage
ESPN 1420 (1420 AM) will broadcast both UH matches this week, live with Scott Robbs handling the play-by-play. The match can also be heard over the Internet on espn1420am.com.

Television Coverage
Both UH matches against Nevada and San Jose State will be carried live statewide on KFVE – The Home Team (Channell 5) with Jim Leahey handling the play-by-play duties and Lisa Strand-Ma'a providing color commentary. A live video stream of the broadcast is available online through: www.uhstreaming.oceanic.com.
 
Ticket Information
Tickets are $17 in the lower level, $12 for adults (upper), $10 for senior citizens (upper), $5 for students ages 4-18 (upper). Tickets can be purchased at Stan Sheriff Center Box Office, the UH Campus Center, Rainbowtique Ward Center, the Aloha Stadium Box Office or OCET at Windward Community College, online or by phone at (808) 944-2697.
 
Military Receive 50% Off To Friday's Match
Active, reservists, and retired members of the military will receive 50% off adult tickets (maximum of eight) to Friday's volleyball match against San Jose State on Oct. 9. A valid military identification card is required when purchasing tickets at the Stan Sheriff Center. Tickets are in special sections and supplies are limited. Other restrictions may apply.
 
Promotions And Giveaways
Thursday's match sponsor American Savings Bank will be giving out 500 stress balls to fans entering the Stan Sheriff Center. American Savings Bank will also work the prize wheel one-hour prior to the start of the match and throughout the night. On Friday night, match sponsor California Hotel and Casino will be holding a “Toss your way to Las Vegas” game in between sets two and three, with the prize a trip to Las Vegas on a Vacations Hawai'i charter package with four nights at the California Hotel and Casino.
