Rainbow Wahine Harriers To Compete In Santa Clara Invitational

The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team will make its annual trip to Northern California for the Santa Clara Invitational, Saturday, Oct. 17. The women's 5K race begins at 9:45 a.m. PT (6:45 a.m. HT) at Baylands Regional Park in Sunnyvale, Calif.
 
For the second time in three weeks, the Rainbow Wahine will compete against mainland competition after finishing 10th at the Dellinger Invitational in Springfield, Ore., two weeks ago.
 
UH's “B” team will participate in the BYU-Hawai'i Invitational also on Saturday. That event will take place at BYUH's 5K grass course on the La'ie campus beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Run Forrester, Run
Senior Jessica Forrester, a transfer from the University of Tampa, has made her mark on the team after just three races this season. The Division II All-American was the team's top finisher in UH's first two meets after placing second overall in the season-opening HPU Invitational and winning the Big Wave Invitational. Forrester finished second behind Ashley Aitken at the Dellinger Invitational two weeks ago.
 
“A” Personal Best
Junior Ashley Aitken, a transfer from the University of Tulsa, broke her personal best in a 5K race at the Dellinger Invitational. Aitken completed the course in 17:53.10 to take top team honors while finishing 44th overall. Aitken transferred to UH after spending the past two seasons at Tulsa, where she competed on the cross country team as well as on the track team, where she excelled in the 800-meter run.
