Weber Lone Bright Spot In Hawai`i Invitational

HONOLULU - The University of Hawai`i men's tennis team squared off against Brigham Young University in the second day of the three-day Hawai`i Invitational Wednesday at the UH Tennis Complex . For the second straight day BYU got the best of the Rainbow Warriors, taking all but one singles match.
 
Senior Andreas Weber provided the lone highlight for the Warriors. Weber, ranked No.119 in  the ITA tennis preseason rankings, bounced back from a tough three-set loss on Tuesday with a 6-3, 7-6 straight-set win over the Cougar's Evan Urbina.
 
Meanwhile, junior Jeremy Tweedt went toe-to-toe with Georgy Batrakov before falling in three-set heartbreaker, 6-1, 2-6, 7-5. Six other Rainbow Warriors—Philipp Eberhard, Craig Faulk, Dmytro Kovalyov, Daniel Llarenas, Leo Rosenberg and Chad Rubin all fell in straight sets. UH's top player, junior Dennis Lajola, ranked No. 43 in the preseason ITA rankings, sat out of competition for the second straight day.
 
In doubles action BYU took all four match-ups, although two went down to the wire.
 
The final round of the three-day tournament will take place tomorrow at UH Tennis Complex. First serve is set for 3:00 p.m.
