HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Athletics Department has launched a new online auction which will be featured on HawaiiAthletics.com. The site launched today and currently features the women's volleyball team's pink jerseys and game balls used during the “Dig Pink” match for breast cancer awareness.
Throughout the year, the auction will offer a variety of items from the department including authentic jerseys, event tickets, special event packages and much more. Proceeds from the auction will support the Athletics Department.
The pink jerseys and game balls were used by the Rainbow Wahine against Brigham Young-Hawai'i on Oct. 23, 2009 at the Stan Sheriff Center. The theme of the match was “Dig Pink,” a national breast cancer awareness rally. The balls are autographed by the entire team and coaching staff. Proceeds from this auction will support UH Athletics and the American Cancer Society.
Starting bid for each of the jerseys and game balls is $25. The closing date is Sunday, Dec. 20 at 6:00 p.m. HT. Winning bidders will be contact to finalize all transactions and a $15 shipping and handling charge will be added if the item is mailed.
