HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Warrior football team will conduct the first of 15 spring practices on Monday, March 30 from 4-6 p.m. at the UH grass practice field.

The Warriors will conduct practices every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (except April 2), and Saturday at 7:00 a.m. throughout the month of April, with UH holding three special events on the final three Saturdays. The Warriors will travel to Maui for a practice/intrasquad scrimmage at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11 at War Memorial Stadium in Kahului. On Saturday, April 18, the UH staff will conduct a coaches clinic before concluding the day with practice from 3-5 p.m. Spring camp will culminate with the annual “Warrior Bowl” intrasquad scrimmage at Aloha Stadium on Saturday, April 25 with festivities beginning at 3:00 p.m.

The Warriors finished with a 7-7 mark in 2008, posting a non-losing season for the eighth time in the last 10 years. Hawai'i finished in second place in the Western Athletic Conference last year, marking the third straight season that UH finished either first or second in the final league standings. UH concluded the season with an invitation to the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl, the Warriors' third straight bowl appearance and seventh in the last 10 years.

UH returns 50 letterwinners and nine starters from last year's squad. Seven starters return on offense, including senior center John Estes, a two-time all-WAC first-team selection, while two starters, defensive end John Fonoti and linebacker Brashton Satele, return on defense.
