HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team participated in the City and County of Honolulu Park Cleanup Saturday at Kapi'olani Park. The event featured many volunteers from across the island.

Many of the Rainbow Wahine players participated in the event, along with head coach Dana Takahara-Dias and staff. The cleanup event took place for about four hours Saturday morning.

“Everyone had a great experience and we were glad we could help in any way,” Takahara-Dias said. “We want to be able to give back to the community as often as we can.”

UH players helped paint the parking lot, including parking stalls and curbs. Among the volunteers was Mayor Mufi Hannemann.
