Water Polo Lands Four On Academic All-Conference Team

WOODLAND, Calif. – University of Hawai`i women's water polo student-athletes Amarens Genee, Monique Wilson, Dagmar Genee, and Saara Majuri were named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation all-academic team, announced Wednesday.

For senior Dagmar Genee, it is her second season in a row receiving all-academic honors. Genee concluded her final season finishing fourth in the program's all-time assists record, totaling 69 assists in her three years at UH. She graduated this past spring with a degree in interdisciplinary studies.

Majuri, another senior, received all-academic distinction for the first time in her career and will be graduating in the fall with a degree in family resources. Majuri finished her career landing third in the program's all-time assists record with 85 assists. This past season she played in all 27 matches and recorded 31 goals.  

Amarens Genee and Wilson, both sophomores, are each first time all-academic honorees. Genee played in all 27 matches and scored 32 goals while Wilson saw action in 26 matches and collected 16 steals, 14 assists and five goals.
 
The criteria included a 3.0 grade point average or better, at least a sophomore standing academically, have completed one full academic year and must have played in 50 percent or more of the team's matches.
