Kanani Danielson Named COBRA Magazine Preseason All-American

All-America Teams

HONOLULU – University of Hawai'i outside hitter Kanani Danielson was selected to the COBRA Magazine women's volleyball preseason all-America first team. Danielson earns her first preseason all-America honor for the 2011 season.
 
Danielson is a two-time AVCA first team all-America selection and in 2010, she earned her second consecutive WAC Player of the Year honor. This past season, the senior from 'Ewa Beach, O'ahu ranked in the Top 10 nationally in kills (4.59 kpg) and became the 17th player in the program's history to eclipse 1,000 career kills. She was also named to the AVCA All-Region team.
 
COBRA Magazine begins its third year of covering collegiate volleyball with its second annual all-America team. Tarah Murrey (California) was selected as the Player of the Year.
 
Hawai'i opens the 2011 season hosting the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational from August 26-28. The Rainbow Wahine plays their opening match versus San Francisco on Friday, August 26, at 7:00 p.m.
