HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's water polo team lost, 12-7, in the finale of its three-game exhibition series with Dutch team UZSC. The match was played Thursday night the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex.
The Rainbow Wahine appeared outmatched early, failing to score in the first period. UH was able to get on the board in the second quarter but still trailed 7-2 at halftime.
Hawai'i got it going and played UZSC even in the second half and outscored the Dutch in the fourth quarter 4-2.
Danielle Lewis and
Monique Wilson led the way for the Rainbow Wahine, both posting a pair of goals on the afternoon.
Mady West,
Amarens Genee, and
Caity Lopes da Silva also scored for Hawai'i.

Leonie Van Der Molen scored four goals to lead UZSC, with teammate Jolien Bouwman posting a hat trick. The 'Bows did hold Van Der Molen scoreless in the final period though.
Serena Reid and Astrid Hyink both record six saves to lead Hawai'i and UZSC, respectively.
The 'Bows next take on their alumnae on Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex. Start time is set for 4:00 p.m.
