Men’s Volleyball Secures Two On All-MPSF Team

Nick Castello started all 55 matches at libero during his two-year career
University of Hawai'i men's volleyball players Steven Hunt and Nick Castello were named to the all-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation teams announced by the league office Thursday.
 
Hunt was selected to the 12-member second team while Castello was an honorable mention pick.
 
USC swept the two major awards as Tony Ciarelli was named Player of the Year and Micah Christenson named the league's Freshman of the Year.
 
Hunt, led the team and ranked among the nation's leaders in kill average at 4.15 kills per set. Earlier this season, he became the 14th player in school history to record 1,000 career kills and finished his four-year career with 1,076 kills and a 3.15 kills per set average. The Toronto, Ontario native was one of only a handful of players in school history to start all four years and posted seven matches with 20 or more kills this past season.
 
Castello, a senior from Honolulu, started all 55 matches in his two-year career at libero. He averaged 2.28 digs per set this season, which ranked among the Top 15 nationally and fourth in the MPSF.
 
The Warriors failed to qualify for the eight-team MPSF Tournament which begins this week.
