HILO, Hawai'i – The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team will compete at the UH-Hilo Invitational, Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Naniloa Volcanoes Resort Golf and Country Club.
UH will send a contingent of eight runners to the meet, its fifth competition of the season. Race time for the 3-mile event is 9:00 a.m.
Competing along with host UH-Hilo and Hawai'i are the state's Division II teams Hawai'i Pacific, Brigham Young-Hawai'i, and Chaminade.
Senior
Kevyn Murphy, UH's top runner at last week's Stanford Invitational, will headline the Rainbow Wahine squad along with
Kelsie Kobayashi,
Louise Mulvey,
Melody Papalii, and
Amanda Lee, all of whom made the travel squad last week.
The last time the Rainbow Wahine competed at the UH-Hilo Invitational was 2011. They finished third in the field. Among the returnees, Mulvey competed at the race finishing with a time of 19:39 for 10
th place.
