Big West All-Conference Team
IRVINE, Calif. – The Big West Conference 2013 men's tennis award winners, as selected by the league's head coaches, were announced Tuesday with University of Hawai'i junior
Jonathan Brooklyn named first team all-Big West in singles.

Dmytro Kovalyov was named second team singles and junior
Jared Spiker garnered honorable mention honors. Brooklyn and Kovalyov were also voted to the Big West all-conference doubles team.
Brooklyn boasted a 5-1 conference singles record, mainly at the No. 1 position, which included four straight wins to close the season. Overall he was 8-10. Kovalyov, competed largely at the No. 2 and No. 3, and won his last two matches which included a straight-set win in the opener of the Big West Tournament. He finished the season 8-12 and 2-4 in conference.
As a doubles duo, Brooklyn and Kovalyov went 3-2 during league play and were 4-9 overall. The tandem played on the No. 1 court in every match, and opened the conference season with three straight victories.
Like Brooklyn and Kovalyov, Spiker posted eight singles victories (8-12) in earning honorable mention honors. He went 5-5 on the No. 3 court where he began the season but elevated his play and started at the No.1 position in five of the last seven matches. Spiker was also UH's lone Big West Player of the Week selection this season.
The Warriors were ousted in the opening road of their first-ever Big West Tournament, but return all but one player for the 2013-14 campaign. They finished the season at 7-13 overall and 4-2 in conference.
