HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team (8-7, 2-1 Big West) returns to the Stan Sheriff Center this week to take on UC Davis (8-9, 3-1 BWC) and UC Irvine (8-9, 1-2 BWC) in a pair of Big West games. The Rainbow Wahine will battle the Aggies on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7:00 p.m. and then the Anteaters on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 5:00 p.m.
The 'Bows are looking to continue their winning ways after defeating UC Riverside this past Saturday, 74-61 on their single-game road trip to southern California.
Shawna-Lei Kuehu poured in a career-high 22 points while tying her career-high making 8-of-14 field goals while going 6-of-8 from the free throw line. She also had seven rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots. It is the sixth time this season that Kuehu has posted double-figures in points—and the first time in her career that she's surpassed the 20 point plateau. On the season, Kuehu is averaging 10.1 points and 4.3 rebounds with a team-high 16 blocked shots.
Kamilah Jackson notched her league-leading 10th double-double of the season and 53rd of her career against the Highlanders. Jackson secured 14 rebounds with an assist, a block and a pair of steals in the game. It was the first time that UH had two players over 20 points since the 2010-11 season when Jackson scored her career-high 31 points and Keisha Kanekoa scored 22 against Cal State Bakersfield on Dec. 29, 2010. Overall, Jackson continues to lead UH averaging 16.3 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.
Ashleigh Karaitiana is second on the team averaging 10.3 points with a team-high 17 made 2-pointers.
Destiny King is second on the team with 5.5 rebounds per game with a team-high 37 assists, while
Sydney Haydel is scoring a career-high 6.5 points per game to go with 3.3 rebounds a game. She has a team-high 17 steals going into this week.
After dropping their Big West opener to Cal State Northridge, UC Davis has bounced back to win their last three straight games—including an overtime thriller at Cal State Fullerton, 69-67 this past Saturday. Three Aggies are averaging over 10 points a game, led by junior guard Sydnee Fipps, a pre-season all-Big West selection, who is averaging a team-high 17.5 points and 6.4 rebounds a game. Fipps is also tied for the team lead with 25 free throws and she leads UCD with 78 free throws made while shooting .821 from the charity stripe. Junior guard Kelsey Harris is the sharp-shooter on the team, averaging 11.9 points a game with a team-high 50 made 3-pointers. Alyson Doherty, a 6-3 post player is right behind Harris, scoring 11.1 points a game with 6.0 boards a game and a team-high 19 blocked shots this season.

UH season-ticket holders in all UH sports and members of the military receive 50% off adult tickets. There will be an autograph session with the women's team after the game in the arena concourse near Gate B.
Head Coaches: Hawai'i head coach
Laura Beeman is in her second season with the Rainbow Wahine. She has a 25-21 record at UH. At Mt. San Antonio, she recorded a 390-110 record in the junior college ranks. UC Davis head coach Jennifer Gross has a 37-40 record in her third season at UC Davis.
Series Information: Hawai'i has a slight 3-2 edge over the Aggies. Last season, UH won both home and away against UC Davis. The 'Bows won at UC Davis, 71-63 on Jan. 19, 2013 and then at home 59-48 on Feb. 14, 2013.
