The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team will send four individuals to the HPU Invitational Saturday at the Kahuku Golf Course.
 
With the Big West Championships right around the corner, the UH's top runners will sit out this week's meet. Instead cross country coach Tim Boyce will send Heather Delgado, Erin Carvalho, Melissa Chadwick and Sarah Franklin to the North Shore for the competition featuring the state's other Division II schools. Franklin will run unattached.
 
Last week, the Rainbow Wahine competed at the Bronco Invitational, which was the team's final tune-up for the Big West Championships. The conference meet will take place Nov. 1 in Riverside, Calif.
