Live StatsThe University of Hawai'i women's cross country team will close out its season at the NCAA West Regional Championship, Friday, Nov. 14, at the Stanford Golf Course in Stanford, Calif.
The women's 6k race begins at 11:00 a.m PT and will include a field of 40 teams. The top two teams from the regional automatically qualify to the NCAA Championships, Nov. 22, in Terre Haute, Ind. In addition, t
he top four individuals not on qualifying teams also advance as long as they finish in the top 25. The West Regional is one of nine regionals around the country. Eighteen teams and 36 individuals will advance automatically. Thirteen teams and two individuals will be chosen by an NCAA subcommittee on Saturday for at-large selections.The Rainbow Wahine will make their first appearance at the West Regionals since 2010. Ashley Aitken was the 'Bow's top finisher that year, placing 135
th overall.
UH is led by freshman
Montana Martinez, who has been the team's top finisher all season long. Last week, she ran a 6k personal-best 22:35 at the Big West Championships.

UH at the NCAA West Regional Championships: The Rainbow Wahine have competed as a team in the NCAA West Regionals 21 times since 1981. UH's best team finish was ninth in 2002, held at the Stanford Golf Course. That same season, Victoria Chang placed 12th individually. UH's top individual performance at the NCAA West Regional was Cheryl Smith's eighth place finish in 2001.
