HONOLULU – Forty-two University of Hawai'i student-athletes and one coach walked among the hundreds of graduates at the Winter Commencement Exercises, held Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center. The list includes current and former student-athletes from 17 different sports programs.
The largest segment represented in the program was the football team, which had 19 student-athlete graduates earning their degrees, in addition to graduate assistant Derek Deardorff earning his second Master's Degree. Sailing, soccer and track & field/cross country each were represented by three (3) graduates apiece, while men's swimming and diving and men's volleyball each sent two (2) for their graduate walk, and beach (sand) volleyball, cheerleading, men's golf, softball, women's swimming and diving, men's tennis, women's tennis, women's volleyball and women's water polo each had one (1) graduate walking.
Each of the graduates received an H-logo courtesy of the UH Letterwinners Club and were honored in a pre-graduation reception breakfast along with their families.
