HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior football team made its first visit to Hawaiian Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium on Friday, locking horns during a 75-play scrimmage on UH's home field for the second practice in full pads, and the ninth in fall camp.

Across eight periods of simulated game action, there was no clear victor, as both the offense and defense got their shots in, rotating between first, second and third-team reps. In Friday's scrimmage, the Rainbow Warriors registered three touchdowns, 11 first downs, two sacks, an interception and seven pass breakups.

Leading the way on offense, projected starter Max Wittek completed 55 percent of his passes and led the offense to two touchdown drives. On defense, cornerback Jamal Mayo stepped to the challenge, breaking up four passes, while Marrell Jackson came away with a 20-yard interception.

With the extended game simulation, the Rainbow Warriors' took advantage of playing in full gear with an extremely physical scrimmage. Defensive Coordinator Tom Mason's squad pressed the offense to its limits, making eight drive stops along the way.

During the first day of full pads, H-TV got a chance to work closely with coach Mason on Cooke Practice Field, providing fans with an insight to the experience that is a day at practice with the Rainbow Warriors' defensive head man in our latest edition of "Wired".
