Biography

2003: Started all 60 games at first base...named first team All-American by both Louisville Slugger/NFCA and Easton...second-straight year earning first team All-West Region honors...WAC Player of the Year...third-straight year WAC first team member...selected to the Paradise Classic, Malihini, and Hawai'i Invitational all-tournament teams...Most Outstanding Player during the Hawai'i Invitational...garnered WAC Player of the Week honors for the week of April 14-20...broke the UH single-season marks for batting average (.479), doubles (18), home runs (17), and walks (38)...broke WAC single-season home run mark (9) in league games only...homered against all five WAC teams...batted .458 in the league maintaining a 1.017 slugging percentage...smashed UH career records in both home runs (38) and walks (75)...UH Offensive Player of the Year at banquet after leading team in 12 categories...posted 24 multiple-hit and 10 multiple-RBI games...batted .615 in five games at the NCAA Region 3, while also garnering all-tournament honors...finished the season riding a 20-game hitting streak, the longest-ever by a UH player...finished third in the nation in batting (.479) and fourth in slugging percentage (.940).

2002: Started at first base and hit clean-up in all 60 games...All-WAC first team selection at first base...first team All-West Region selection at first base...broke UH single-season mark pounding out 15 home runs...led the team in home runs (15) and RBI (47)...batted .347 in 24 WAC games with seven homers and 22 RBI...had 13 multiple-hit and 17 multiple-RBI games...longest hitting streak was nine games from March 1-8...had a career-high four hits in the first game at San Jose State (March 30).

2001: Rookie sensation played in 53 games, starting in 49...after opening the season with a 1-for-21 slump, raised her batting average to .320, third highest on the team...broke freshman home run record with her sixth home run that came in the team's final game against Texas Tech...was second on the team in RBI and home runs and first in slugging percentage...named WAC Player of the Week (5/7)...was also named to the Malihini Tourney and Hawai`i Invitational all-tournament teams.

Australian Junior National Team: Played with the 1998 Australian Junior Superball Team that toured the U.S....she also traveled to play in the 1999 Junior World Championships in Taipei with the Australian Under-19 Team...played with former Rainbow Wahine Kate Judd and Felicity Witt on the 1999 Australian Under-19 National Team...this past year Porter was named Most Valuable Player of the Australian Under-19 National Fastpitch Tournament after batting .607, with five doubles, five homers, and 17 runs scored...named Batter of the Series at the Australian National Tournament in 1997, 1998, and 1999...a member of the New South Wales Under-16 State team in 1997 and 1998...currently in her second season with the NSW Under-19 State team...team captain led NSW to national titles in 1999 and 2000...her Under-16 team also captured a national title in 1997.
