HONOLULU – Colorado State’s Katelyn Steffan and Megan Plourde each had 15 kills as the Rams (24-5) outlasted Oregon in five sets, Thursday, in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championships at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Set scores were 24-26, 25-21, 25-21, 15-25, 15-10. CSU advances to the second round where they will face the winner of the night’s second match between host Hawai‘i and Northern Colorado.
Oregon outside hitter Alaina Bergsma had a match-high 30 kills in 81 swings. The Ducks finished the season 21-10.
The Rams hit .200 as a team and out-blocked the Ducks 18-to-6. CSU libero Izzy Gaulia had 39 digs while UO’s Haley Jacob had 32.
