Post Game Quotes
Hawai‘i vs. San Jose State (Nov. 21, 2015)
Hawai‘i Interim Head Coach Chris Naeole
On the teams second-half performance..
I just told them in the locker room that it was embarrassing and we have to be better. We turned over the ball too much and I expect better. We can’t start slow, we’re just not good enough to do that.
On the performance of RB Paul Harris..
We definitely concentrated on the run game. The O-lined moved the ball and Harris was able to have a big game. But it was our turnovers that ended up hurting us.
On QB Ikaika Woolsey’s performance..
He was definitely competing and playing. He doesn’t always play smart but he’s a tough kid. He took some shots and kept on ticking.
QB Ikaika Woolsey on the differences between the two halves..
It was just our energy level. We came out flat including myself, obviously with the two turnovers. We put the defense back out consistently. We came out with energy in the second half so who knows what the score would have been like. It’s rough when you come out like that but at the end of the day I still respect my teammates for putting up a fight regardless of what the score was.
RB Paul Harris on his 100-yard rushing game...
I give all the credit to my O-line. It’s a pat on the back to them. I really have no stats because I’m not a selfish guy and I just want to win. Before halftime we were still together it was just a different person each time missing assignments and we tried to stay positive.
LB Lance Williams on playing with pride..
We talked about having pride this whole week. As coach says, either you’re in or you’re out. We play for each other and it is what it is. The results are not what we wanted but the one thing I’m proud of is guys who keep playing. We’re playing for the state of Hawaii and we have to take pride in that.
